ok so did a oem save of a 8D0907551A box "epl stage 2 / flashing to a base file stage 3", file saved as a 512k file "should be 1024k correct?

ive tried to flash a few files, every one erases writes correctly "it says"

if i get ecu info with vagcom i get ecu # as -THIS - IS- THE - WSC 00000"

any ideas anyone? ive played around with baud, never had an issue on this setup with any other ecu's

ecu was believed to have a epl street tune i was erasing and saved for backup to restore...

thanks for the reply, from what ive read  i'm in fail safe mode, i've been in boot mode the whole time flashing, i tried flashing a OEM same box code file but nothing.... same results, i was just trying to go from a box epl stage 2? to m box stage 3 base "tony" to edit a fresh start..... all i did was read this box one time and it dumped a 512k file, i could care less about the epl tune just want a working ecu or a stage 3 base!!!

yes exactly my point, ive flashed a few ecu's many times over and over in the past, always using gellatto, always on the bench in boot mode...

  the very first time i read this ecu it dumped a 512k file.. if i read it always gets the "THIS-IS-THE-RAM-PROGRAM" for info

 the only reason i read it was for backup for this ecu... ive tried to flash it over and over and it always says 100% complete and comes out corrupt in fail safe mode.... can a new blank eprom be bought of ebay and be soldered on? or are there any repair tools/software?

thanks as always ddillenger.... so i should be able to solder in the blank eprom and itll flash with standard gelletto and not a stand alone eprom burner?

if i sent to you you would just solder in a new chip or try a software fix? i was just trying to help a friend with a base file for the cost of shipping, not sure if this ecu was damaged before it was sent to me, all i did was read and dump for backup and it instantly dumped a 512k bin the first time "in boot mode at that" i knew something was up when the bin was not 1024k....

yes, ill double check, but ive flashed my ecu's numerous times with out any issues ever.. would the epl tune corrupt the eprom "security"
 just in a data read? like i said im not sure what the previous owners have done to this ecu...
