Can't get a tuned RS6+ ecu into bootmode
« on: November 12, 2013, 12:46:20 PM »
Hi,
I've got a RS6+ plus ME7.1.1 ECU 4D0907558F with a tuned 4D1907558 0261207857 1037366304 0002 file on it, and would like to go back to stock.
With Galletto and the ME7_95040 (and my bench harness) I've successfully gone into bootmode on RS4 S4 and A3 ECU's, but can't connect with either tool to the RS6 ECU.
What else can I try to read/write the file on there?

Bootmoding the newer ME7.1.1's is a little trickier. You need to add a resistor, or desolder a resistor. There's a thread on it here, but the name escapes me.

I never needed a resistor to get RS6 ecus in bootmode... just the same way as RS4

My Galletto software was sh*t (orange light flashing every 2 seconds on the OBD plug).
With the proper English Galletto on here, I read the file in regular mode in 10 minutes and wrote back the original in bootmode in 2,5 minutes. Writing back in regularmode gave me a connection speed error.
Thanks!

Update:
I get into bootmode 100% of the time when I short pin 24 before giving the ECU any power.
Update:
I've got a ignition switch in my bench setup, but don't need to turn it on to get into bootmode.
In with the RS4 ECU I shorted the bootpin before switching on the ignition on my bench harness (already with the powersuply on).
