First thing first. Excellent work on Nefmoto. You must be proud producing this excellent piece of software.  Wink

I have a question, what memory layout should I select for a ME7.5? I can't remember which once I selected, but I managed to read my ECU file and save to HD. The file was 1mb in size so must be a 29F800 of sorts?

I have included a ME7Check scan at the bottom.

If I am right this is a US based site? I don't want to teach you to suck eggs, but if you didn't know, over in Europe we have some additional VAG based car manufacturers. SEAT & SKODA are very popular. And as such we have numerious models with 1.8T engines (150BHP - 225BHP).

Within the 180BHP versions there are many variants of the 06A906032 ECU; MJ, SG, SJ, ...
Comparing my SKODA .BIN with a SEAT LEON .BIN gives exactly the same ME7CHECK info (a 032SJ ECU).

This is becomming a long post, so I will cut it short here and post another TOPIC when required. Thanks.

If you open the ECU and look at the flash chip it should be written on there. It is on my S4 ECU at least.

I don't really want to open up the box.  I thought there must be plenty of people who know this info, or have a ME7.5 on the bench.
VAG must have made 100,000's of these, it is not like they are a rare ECU.
Cheers.

Thanks for info setzi62.

On the Nefmoto info, Tony says if you try writing with the wrong layout the program should stop. But it is nice to have the correct setting to start with  Wink

Clicking the "Validate Memory Layout" button will check the start and end addresses of the memory layout you are using against the ECU. This should be all you need to do to determine which memory layout to use.

PS: The site is based in Canada. Smiley
PPS: There is no reason the NefMoto ME7 software cannot flash all ECUs in the VAG family, but so far only the VW/Audi people are really involved.

In the end I used the 29F800 Generic option as per your 1.7.0.0 instructions Tony.

I have been running the standard factory map for over a week now. After 3k rpm the engine does not have much go compared to the previous map Sad But least the mpg has gone up  Grin

I have got this to work on a SKODA, and Carlossus has got this to work on a SEAT.  We have nearly covered the entire VAG range!

SKODA's did not have a good name until VAG took them over. Now you get all the kit for a lot less money  Shocked The MK2 Octavia vRS has the 2.0 TFSi engine from the Golf GTi! all for a lot less dough/cash/wonga/wedge  Shocked

im going to post in this topic due to it being related and first google search.
i have a me7.5, with hardware number 8e0 909 518 f,  chip number AM29F800BB - 70SI. nef moto will not read the flash saying that it has aftermarket software on it. i have two ecus and both do the same.

im the second owner of the 2002 a4 b6 AMB 1.8t quattro, and don't believe it has a flash nor see and changes to the pcb on either board.
is there another memory layout i need to be using?

tried 29f800, 29f800bb, 29f800bt, 29f400bb, 29f200bb.
