So since it was the holidays I figured today would be the day to flash my 01 allroad. Hooked up my Rosstech Hex-Can-USB, made sure that vagcom did not have boot in intelligent mode clicked, loaded the software and chose the 29F800BB layout, had it connect to the ecu leaving the baud rate alone, connects fine, tried getting it to read the flash file information, communication fails, okay well lets go to the main page under kwp2000 info and tell it to read the ecu info after a key cycle. It will read the info there, but will not read the flash info and it will not flash the ecu. I am missing something somewhere and have tried different baud rates. Any help with this would be appreciated, car still starts and runs so I haven't bricked it.
