flashing by obd - motronic 3.8.3
« on: January 08, 2014, 03:01:47 PM »
hi.
have an audi a3 1.8t agu with motronic 3.8.2 06a906018D. there is a 128kb flashrom inside. when I try to write the ecu with mpps (choosing a 5.9.2) I get an file lengt error because it must be 256kb. on other forums they said that the 5.9.2 and 3.8.3 are identical: able to write. now I want to buy a3.8.3, knows anybody if its possible to write on of these ecu's by obd:

3.82 is 128. 3.83 is 256, same as M5.92. Don't think you can write 3.82 without a new chip, which requires soldering.

3.82 has an OTP PLCC44 EPROM inside which requires soldering as ddilenger says, so, no, you won't be able to flash your 3.82.

I have no logs because I have a boost gauge (makes things easier)
