help with starting problem
« on: January 16, 2014, 09:13:26 PM »
hello i am looking for some help. i have a stage three b5 s4 tune from vast but i have not been happy with the tune sense it was first done but now vast is out of business and im trying to make the the car the least bit reliable. the current tune on the ecu has area melted one head and ever sense the tune ive had hard start issues worse during cold weather. i have build a bench flash station, i am trying to correct the issues but i cant get the program to read the ecu but i can connect. please help should i try to load and other file over the vast file.. also i have notice one of the chips on my board has been soldered on defiantly not factory.

It's probably a protected file. Have you tried boot mode? Thats probably what is stopping you. I recommend starting over though. See if your hardware is the same as what Tony's stg 3 base file is in the modified file section. If its close just change the maf or injector settings and begin there.

Don't be surprised if the ecu has a soldered in chip.

i have written this file over the old one
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=3600.0
.tried starting the car to day when i got in and turned the key both elp and the cel where blinking quit quickly. the car would turn over but would not fire at all. the cel blinking like that made me think something was wrong with the ecu. maybe try tony's file ?
