I have a vr6, 02j, ecu, and harness out of a 2000 jetta. I plan to swap it into a mk2 or mk3 jetta or golf. I do not.plan to use the mk4 cluster of keys ect. Would I need to disable the immo and if so would I have and issues during it over obd. Thanks.

No cluster and no keys = immo defeat for sure.

Just bootmode it with argdubs tool.

I figured as much. Itll will be a while before I dive into this, we don't have a car yet just the drivetrain this can be done easily without it being in the donor car?

Will need immo off if you're not using the immo box and chip in the key, but I don't know why you wouldn't.

Theft is always a concern.

And if it's immo2, then it's easy, no cluster to worry about.  Your call, but I'd try and keep it.
