Hi guys!, hoping someone can help me out. I've used Nefmoto on many B5 S4 ecu's with no issues, but now I'm kinda stuck ... 2003 C5 RS6, trying to flash a file. The memory layout is 29F800, all good there. cannot connect with fast init, but connects nicely with slow init. Start the flash, but around 15%, it has a communication error, and asks if I want to try again, and reverts back to around 12%, starts data transfer, and about 45 minutes later, reaches the 15% mark, and same thing. This happened 5 times.
I admit, I am not very well versed in flashing, but never had a problem in the past with other cars. I now have a bricked ecu, but I can still connect to it. I also tried starting the flash again, it starts from the beginning and takes a couple of hours before reaching the 15% point and stopping.
I am using my VCDS cable, charger on the battery. I don't have a bench flash cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello mate, Welcome to Nefmoto I have done a lot on the RS6 and must confess I only use MPPS V12 to read and write this car. If you can still connect to the ECU in some fashion, I'd bet MPPS can recover this without the need for boot mode. I've never had a failure using MPPS Cheers!

Ok, I found the site where I can order the cable, but... I need to do this today, as I need the car.... Any other solutions using nefmoto?

And that's ladies and gentlemen why you should also have plan "B" when things go wrong.

Ya, I do have a plan B, but I don't want to give plan A up without a fight. Ok sir?

Also try a slower baudrate... you may not need bootmode.

I figured I didn't need boot mode because I can still connect with the ecu, but again, I don't have much experience with such issues... all the flashes I've done in the past on 2.7t ecus went perfectly. Is it normal that it takes well over an hour to reach 15% on slow init? I'll try slower baud rates and report back later. Thanks!

Definitely not. BTW i've seen some weird bug with the nefmoto flasher that require you to quit and restart the program when you change baudrates. Never tracked it down.. just a heads up.

Ok, tried again with 124800 baud rate, and same exact thing... took an hour and half to reach 15% and errored. I tried to lower the baud rate, and even restart the program, but when connect with slow init, the baudrate reverts to 124800 again... any suggestions?

Bootmode.
Or keep trying to get it to work with lower baudrates.
