I am in the process of trying to get another ECU that I can tune and use on my car. My car is 01 1.8t jetta aww 032dl software, the ecu I am trying to flash is a 032lq. When I flashed my file to it and did immo defeat the throttle pedal does not work. Car just idles, Am I missing something? Shouldn't  my 032dl file convert the 032lq auto ecu to work on my manual?  The guy I got the ecu from claims the car it came from was in running/driving order.

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like the rear o2 shorted in his running/driving car.

That was my first thought, I told him that and he claims there were no running issues with the car.   I was hoping I just missed something, am I right in thinking once you flash a manual file there's nothing more to do to an auto ecu?

You have to recode it manual, but that won't cause throttle issues.
