hello all first off i hope i am placing this in the right fourm
i have a 2001 audi s4 i am trying to flash to get the bin off so i can make my log file
some info
its a giac tune
i have a generic ebay cable
and when i try and connect it says its rejected and then just keeps communicating timing
i can scan with vagcom i can also get the info from the ecu with the me7 program
is this somthing ill just have to flash over?
any help is greatly appreciated

GIAC must be protected just like REVO and other tuners.

You can`t read your flash.. at least not without boot mode .you have to work on another .ori

Also if GIAC messes with your e2p like revo you have to flash that too with a known immo code ( I think in the Immo section there are some files)  ,or with an immo off.

Well as far as i know i dont have an immo
My keys arent even coded to the car
Ive been told thats part of the immo
And my car starts and runs everytime
So with that being said i should be fine to
Flash over the giac right?

Well yes , flash over GIAC ...with an ori and start from there.
In your case I would boot the ECU read the flash and the e2p for backup and then do whatever you want

Ive tried the boot with the cable i have and it doesnt get anywere
Im also starting to think maybe my cable just sucks aswell

Please read carefully the forums and the Wiki.. You can`t perform boot with a KKL ebay cable , only with Galletto or genuine tools....

Please read carefully the forums and the Wiki.. You can`t perform boot with a KKL ebay cable , only with Galletto or genuine tools....

Mpps works as well

This is true i have read alot of information
I think i mostly tried it for the hell of it.
Apon taking the plastic shell off my cable i can see the
Ftdi chip so now im making sure the drivers and such
