Software could read only 8%-12% and said "Reading ECU flash memory failed."
This NB 1.8T is [06A906032JR 1.8I 5T NB AG4] and choosed ME7 29F800 MemLayout.

I tried to pull off cluster fuse(#11,#15), but could not connect to ECU without fuses. And the voltage of battery seems to be enough.

This is a first time to read ECU Wink Thanks!

Lower your baud rate to 38400 and try again. Make sure to connect, and then once connected ensure it is set to 38400.

Thank you very much, ddillenger!

I did not know how a baud is set. I can read ecu with 52800 baud! (I don't know why the 38400 baud can't)

.......
And what can I do for this ECU to be tuned? I thought I get XDF file but now BIN file.
I think my next step is operation of Tunerpro, but how??

Or should I ask TUNED ECU for NEW BEETLE 1.8T on this forum???

My purpose is just to get more HP for this NB.

XDF file is an index file that tells you where the maps are. The Bin file is the data that is loaded onto the ECU containing the maps. To tune you will need both, but the XDF is specific to your ECU code and software version. (XDF is a definition for tunerpro, you will also see Damos and kp files mentioned, these are for other map editors).

The 032HN (AUQ 180bhp Octavia/Leon) has a good XDF and *should* be cross flashable onto your ECU, but I would consider getting a spare ECU if you need the vehicle for transport, so you have a spare in case you brick an ECU by cross flashing.

The s4 wiki gives you a step-by-step that will tell you how to tune, it is for the 2.7T but it is relevant for your ECU too. http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning

Thank you for your leading, turboat!

I found the same ECU on an auction as a spare. I am ready. Then finally I understood that I need one xdf file as next step because I have already one bin file, right?

Must I study differences between good-TUNED-032HN and ORIGINAL-032HN bin files??

I could not load this following xdf file to tunerpro. Is there the other xdf??:

Thank you very much.

Yeah I would start by working through the S4 wiki and a 032HN ecu with decent definitions. Think that is an issue with your PC - I can open those XDF fine on windows 7 32 and 64 bit - it may be because you have japanese language.

032R or 032RT ??
I'm sorry. I read this forum every day for my understanding, but  I can not understand what you mean completely... Cry

I understand only that 032RT is NB euro model. In japan, there is also 032FS in auction.

As I found the following link, Could I ask you one more ?
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=6271.0

I don't know where I find XDF except this forum.. but Did this topic mean that you drove your car(which?) with "stage1 base tuned rtech"??

For example, Can I use this bin file "stage1 base tuned rtech" that you uploaded to my 032JR ECU? It will be almost no problem??

I can upload my bin file if it makes you disable the sai/lambda2 errors.. OR.. I can try to compare 032JR and your 032RS with tunerpro. I hope I can do!  Wink

I am trying to compare 2 bin with Difference Tool of tunerpro.
It is fun. Now I find that the change of TUNED and UNTUNED is different to the change of NB euro model and NB japanese model.
If I have original 032RT's bin file, it is better. But I let me continue analyzing for a while.

Anyway, my knowledge is too poor to understand all changes of params. But the change of NB euro model and NB japanese model comes from mainly abgas(catalyst), I thought..

I meant if you find XDFs for these ECUs please post them up. (I misread your original post, I should have said 032JR)

Please do not use that file, it is one from an old ECU I bought that I uploaded in error.

I would start with 032HN from here: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4639.0

Now, I understood 032"RT" means "R-Tech".
Then,,I can refer and study also this stage1 tuned 032 file that works well on 032HN.
Is it MT or AT?

I am learning the tuning by comparing 032HN files and thank you for leading to this world. Kiss

I can not post 032JR xdf file, because I have nice 032HN xdf file that seems to work well on 032JR, right?

I've compared 032HN and 032JP as binary file without Tunerpro.
It was almost different and I understood I need xdf as you said.
