New chip fitted to 551C

The bord without chip had continuity to all pins from eprom to relevant points.

Chip fitted, again all continuity to relevent points.

Galletto will read

Go to flash file

Start writing...erro writing

That's all I'm getting...

Sooo frustrating

Any pointers or another way to flash file to the new chip

Can you confirm your setup works with other ECUs?

I had this recently. I realized after the third consecutive ecu that I got a bad batch of chips that wouldn't erase properly Sad

Threw new chips in and all the ecus that I though were dead came to life.

So it could be the chip/chips this is the 3rd one I've fitted as I thought it was a soldering issue

Any way I can get around it apart from New chip from different seller?

AM29F400BB-90SC PSOP44, SOP44

Like i said it will read but read nothing if you know what i mean as its blank/new but just wont flash to it, wont even start.

3rd chip fitted all the same and all the same outcome, i did get opening port impossible but that was down to a soldering issue

If you have no response from VCDS , you didnt solder the ECU correctly or you didnt write it correctly.

Wait a minute you threw it completely blank ?? Write an ori first in programmer

How would I do that?

He is saying write your original file to the eprom before soldering it on.

I use a Mcumall GQ4x with PSOP44 adapter.

Google it.
