Hi
A bit of background
My Car is a 1988 Golf GTi mk2 with an ARY Audi TT 180HP fitted
The ECU is 8N0906018AQ and runs wideband Lambda

I attempted to get it into Boot mode and do immo off but failed to get it onto boot mode
A friend has all the tools and knowledge and did the immo off for me

I have finally found a cable to use with NEF and today saved my flash file .. yay!
This is the memory layout i used: ME7 29F800BB.MemoryLayout.xml
I ran it through ME7 checker and get 1 error, could this be due to my friend doing the immo off and not correcting the checksums ?
So i ran it through ME7 sum .. it found no issues and corrected no problems

Right now i am a little confused about how to
A: find the error
B:correct the error

In the mean time i will re read my flash and check it again just in case something went wrong in the reading process

Ok i re-read the flash and once again ran it through ME7check and still get the 1 error

Of course i am learning as i go and trying to take in a lot of information too but i will learn, its been a while since i used CMD! i had to read a few websites to refresh my memory on using it again
I'm not interested in getting a pre made map and flashing it, i want to learn how to make changes and what effect they have

Ps can anyone tell me if i can upload my ecu file to this website or do i need to use personal storage then link it ?

Thanks
Slim

Unfortunately, ME7Sum is still incomplete and cannot correct all errors that ME7Check finds :/

At this point, it is beyond my ability to fix it w/o help from others more knowledgeable than myself.

I read the post introducing ME7sum and to be honest it says its not compatiable with ME7.5, but then a poster said it worked, i figured i had nothing to lose and went for it
I am just finding my feet and all the help i can get is appreciated

Here is my CMD box
Though there is an error it does not say a checksum error

C:\Users\User\Desktop\Memory Layouts>me7check.exe "gti2.bin"
==============================================================================
me7check v1.08 (c) mki, 06/2004-04/2011
Checking file gti2.bin (size=1048576)
Reading Version Strings...
-> Bootrom Version = 05.12
-> EPK = 40/1/ME7.5/5/4019.00//24b/Dst01o/210201//
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - '0261207416'         (SSECUHN)
   - '1037360843'         (SSECUSN)
   - '8N0906018AQ '       (VAG part number)
   - '0001'               (VAG sw number)
   - '1.8L R4/5VT     '   (engine id)
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - 'HW_MAN004'

-> Found 1 errors!!!   *******************************

C:\Users\User\Desktop\Memory Layouts>

Does this ring any bells with anyone
Thanks

I don't think there is an error. Is that the newest version of me7check? I don't think it is.

There are multiple versions in that post. You have the earliest, 1.08. Download the newest build.

The version numbering in that post is misleading, especially since the date code on the "last" version does not match the date code he mentions in the text of the post Sad

Well i think i have got the latest version
The post really is misleading , i went for the version with the highest number: 260911
Please see the attached file to verify

This still brings up an error

==============================================================================
me7check v1.11 (c) mki, 06/2004-07/2011
Checking file C:\Users\User\Desktop\Memory Layouts\gti.bin (size=1048576)
Reading Version Strings...
-> Bootrom Version = 05.12
-> EPK = 40/1/ME7.5/5/4019.00//24b/Dst01o/210201//

-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - 'HW_MAN004'

Data area checksum failure(s) found
-> Found 1 error!!!   *******************************

Not sure where to go with this
Shall i assume all is well enough to input into winols or tunerpro ? The car does run fine but has a few DTC's
Mainly due to being in a mk2 golf rather than the TT

missing message from cluster
Missing message from airbag
N275 message and a few more from removed systems

Thank you very much !
I appreciate you helping me out, i am trying to learn about ecu tuning and have a long way to go, could you explain how you knew there were no errors and a brief description of what you did to remove the can errors
I have read the s4 wiki but it has not fully sunk into my conscious yet
Thanks

winOLS says the sums are good in my file. I imported over an original to make sure they were proper. I used cw_can_r to remove the can-bus faults.
