Unable to read ECU flash
« on: September 04, 2014, 11:10:33 AM »
Hi been trying to read my ECU it keeps saying ECU reports that security access is not supported.
Here is the screen shot:
Starting loading of info.
Cancelling loading of info.
Validated FTDI device is in dumb mode.
Disconnected
Connecting...
Starting slow init connection.
Connecting to address 0x01.
Slow init succeeded.
Switching to KWP1281 session.
KWP1281 connect info: ¸D0907551K 2.7l V6/5VT G 0001
any ideas?
cheers Matt

After connecting, lower your baud rate to 38400.

Hi I have changed the buld rate still getting
Reading ECU flash memory.
ECU reports programming session preconditions have been met.
Negotiating communication timings.
Successfully changed to new communication timings.
Requesting security access.
ECU reports that security access request was rejected.
Starting diagnostic session.
Unable to properly start diagnostic session, attempting to continue with current undefined session.
This can occur if the security lockout is running, or the engine is running. Please turn off the ignition and retry if this continues to fail.

Did you change the baud rate AFTER connecting?
Because it reverts to max after you connect...

Yes I connected to the car at max rate then changed to the lower rate as you said still getting the message.
Do you think someone has locked the ECU?

RS4 (in your case 551K) is not ME7.5, it is ME7.1
Try pulling the cluster fuse?
Also try to flash the ECU on the bench (shouldn't need bootmode).
