You need to do a compression test on bank 1 and a leakdown test on all cylinders ..** # 1.2.3.4 ** ( bank 1 , the right side as you were sitting in the car ) . You need to know if the engine is mechanically ok before you mess with the software.
compression specs are : new engine 191- 140 psi
............................... old engine 160- 105 psi
............... allowed cylinder differance ......44 psi
............... ..min compresion allowed.......103 psi
leakdown test specs can not be over 20%.
all test done with engine cold.

Compression test is done, nothing out of the ordinary there. 176 - 187 psi on all cylinders (Actually the measurements were done with a metric bar scale compression meter, I used 14.5 as factor when converting to psi). I ordered a leakdown tester last week, expecting it to arrive for the weekend. I agree with the fault finding order. All measurable things (except the leakdown) have been verified as good, that includes fuel, spark, vacuum.

This is starting to look like I need to pull the bank 1 head. I bought a leakdown tester. 5%-10% all around except for the one misfiring cylinder that showed a little over 20%. With all spark plugs removed, air pushed to the 1. cylinder rushes out of 2.and 3. cylinder spark plug holes (they must have intake valves open at 1st cylinder TDC). FML I had the heads done just a year and a half ago.
On the positive side, I found a way to enable misfire logging on this ecu. This place is truly great, not just as a source for information but as a source of inspiration also.
