Has anyone tried the Audi A6 with audi S6 ECU? Both have since 1999. Immo is not a problem. What is the difference between the engines? What needs to be done that to work? Wish for more power.

Different camshafts, injectors, maf, throttle body, intake manifold and of course the ecu. Block and the heads are the same.

If You only try to use S6 software on a stock A6, You're gonna lose power and probably have fault codes all over the place. Basically You're better off using the A6 software as a base.

P.S.

If someone is interested, I have a spare set of original S6 AQJ camshafts, MAF and injectors that I could be persuaded to be relieved of for a reasonable price.

Yes, this will not gain you more power. You will lose power due to the loss of one of the intake flap stages.
