Hey guys, I started working on my spare ecu today and ran into a problem:
I can not read the flash from the ECU, no matter what memory layout I choose. I am 99% sure it is an untuned ecu. (if not, I was lucky on the price lol)
I removed the immobilizer from the EEPROM. I am considering cross-flashing the ecu to match my 018AA ecu, but I am unable to find information on the forum how to check if they are compatible.. The search function is maybe a bit strict on results, I am sure it is covered here...
I attached both EEPROM reads, both Immo-off. Another option may be the AR bin is not good and blocks reading the flashrom? Or is the solution to read the flash in bootmode?
Hope someone can be my candle in the dark  Wink
*added nefmoto log
*added ME7check of both flash files (AR downloaded, AA read)

Are you doing this on the bench? If so, have you powered up pin 121?

Yes, I have power to 3, 21, 62 and 121 in my bench setup. I use both plugs. On my AA ecu it worked flawless 1st try. Bootmode EEPROM reading on the AR ecu was succesfull 1st try aswell. I have read about someone that had trouble with reading the 018AR ecu aswell, but I can't find it anymore  Huh
* I was able to write the AR bin to the ecu, but reading afterwards failed on the same error. It looks like it has some kind of write only protection? Does anybody know if I will enable reading/writing when I clone this AR ecu to match the AA? Or is it more likely a hardware problem?

I kicked my ECU in the balls and reflashed it with 4B0906018P  Grin
Now I can read it without problems, yay
In the case somebody is scared of cross-flashing like me: The 4B0906018AR will cross flash 4B0906018P.
Read 4 ECU info entries:
