Well here i am I have a 2001 a6 2.7 apb car i bought for a swap into my 2005 b6 a4. Now the a6 has no dash and no ignition. My question is will I be able to jumper my ignition so I can carry out my soft coding before disconnecting my TCU and if not will I need to bench flash my cloned EEPROM file first the jumper the ignition? Any help would be great i am trying to avoid a stinky old trany dangling in my car after my swap cause my soft coding wasnt done.

You don't need to carry out any coding prior to removing the TCU, that's just not true. You can do it with the TCU unplugged.

There is no need to bench flash unless defeating the immobilizer, but it can be adapted to the B6 cluster if you want, no problem.

The immobilizer data is stored on the top of the board in the 950403 eeprom. It is an SOIC-8 package.

I would probably immo off the ecu before you donor it, then switch it back on once you've got it happily running in the a4.

I think i read a couple posts in the immo clone section. Hex editing is a bit out of my realm. If I understand correctly if i can read the .bin I can get it coded out.

So I have a cable that has the 232r chip and I cant connect to nef even tho it recognizes it it fails the echo test under all baud settings.  I tried to use the dxxx drivers as recomended in the noob guide but it says I have the best ones installed. It is in com 3 what do you recomend. And thanks again you have honestly helped me everytime i come on this site
