As the title suggests, is there a resource available to help me determine which bins are compatible with my hardware? I have done a little bit of playing with my original bin, enough to give me a decent power increase, however I am running into boost surging/kangarooing/whatever you want to call it due to a larger than stock turbo.
I have been doing some research as to how to remedy this issue, but cannot locate an xdf with enough parameters defined for my bin to allow me to adjust the maps to begin correcting my problem.
Unfortunately I don't have the time, and lack the coding experience to attempt to create my own xdf based on some of the much more fully defined bins available on this awesome site. I was hoping someone could steer me closer to a bin that has an xdf with sufficient definitions to allow me to learn and grow with the tuning on my car. I want to do so much more, I just need a slight stepping stool to aid my slowish learning curve.

My particular info is a 2001 AWW coded wideband 1.8t in a VW GTI running an ME7.5 ecu with a VAG part number of 06A609032DL.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you fine forum members are willing to provide this eager to learn noob!

And yes I did search, not a ton of info was found by myself on this particular topic. I was able to determine that if I keep it in the ME7.5 family, with the same bootmode version I am safe. What I do not know is where to find the information as far as what bins apply to what ME version, what bootmode version applies, etc..

If I suck at search keywords, please tell me so and point me in a better direction so I can find and learn!

032DL is immo 2, all other are immo3. You can flash them, but the immobilizer will ruin your day. Make sure to either turn it off, or use the matching eeprom. Then you can run any mk4 file from 02-05.

I located your immo thread and have been reading through it. Basically what you are saying is that I need to find a way to make an immo-3 flash play nice with an immo-2 eeprom?
Might be easier to defeat immo for the time being until I can get the time/funding to start playing with immo-3 FIS clusters.

I was also looking into locating a bin from a mk1 tt 225hp to start with as I believe they could have also been equipped with immo-2.

It will start and run but will have issues with the N75 control.

I assume this is the same for ME7.5?
ie. Using a 2.0 ECU with a 1.8T BIN.
I have not tested this.

This is correct. I think Fotis has more on the subject. I recall seeing something about it on ecuconnections.

correct. n75 and o2 sensor control is different i believe.

I would be willing to bet there are a lot of oddities that shouldn't work, but do, along side some oddities that should work, but don't.

I can be a guinea pig for 1.8t bins on the me7.5 platform if there is a decent resource for stock bins.

This could be a pretty cool community project, compiling a master list of what bins you can use with what versions of hardware. That way new tuners can pick a higher performance, from the factory, file to start with for comparisons to their original bin, as well as a great place to start with changes.
