I have carried out all lambda test/cat test and all pass ok . Took another log to check injector time and max is 18ms so its not a weak pump or filter . My bet is MAF as the log recorded max of 180gs . Boost matched requested at 1.2 bar .

MINE IS A 1.8T BAM . So the reading mine gets is acceptable at -2 ?  


MVB 32 will tell you the fuel adaptations.  The readings should not be over +- 10%. A perfect unexpected and good running engine will be +-5 %.  MVB 32 will tell you if the maf is junk or another problem with the fuel / intake system

Could it be a lazy or old pre cat lambda ? There is a lambda test or age block i think.

Hint of the day :

You cant be in basic settings when checking the corralation on the camshaft. You need to be in MVB for all live data reading. Basic settings will stop all adjustments or cause a test to happen when you are doing logs.

Car was running great until i had new timing belt kit fitted. May just be coincedence , but here is the story.   I have torque running and noticed car felt less responsive and heavier on fuel so did log.  on previous logs timing pull was no more than 6 after 5800 rpm and maf reading was approx 205g/s at 6100 rpm.  My trims were normally -0.8 and -3.9 . Now trims are are both at zero (havent reset them) . Now its pulling up to 9 degrees timing from 5.5k and the corrected load seems to be being pulled too . Now peak airflow is about 191g/s . Have done leak test and no leaks . My two ideas on cause would be a failing maf (a brand new oem one fitted about 16 months ago) or the timing is out after belt change.  I have attached the log i took after belt change. Any pointers would be a great help. Thanks . Oh boost requested is 1.2 bar on map.  No fault codes. I also put stock map on and trims are the same after two days or running (they would normally be 0.8 and -3.1).

Normaly you have to drive the car for 10 - 20 minutes for the fuel adaptaions to start and the N75 to adapt as well ( MVB 111 ). I would drive the car for 10-15 miles on the highway. For the fuel adaptations to start the engine coolant has to be above 165deg and be running longer than 4 minutes. When driving you should not give it full throttle.You can give 90% throttle though. Full throttle will stop the fuel adaptations.

thanks to all help . After ruling out belt , lambda etc . a failing MAF was the culprit . Fuel trims back to 0.2 and -3.1  and maf full load log was 206 gs
