So I made a bench harness for me7.5 but i was wondering how do you do a read on other ecus for example I want to flash a 98 b5 1.8t and the ecu isn't a me7. How to i read this ecu? People say mpps will work but I need confirmation?

Heres info on me3/5 but how do you find out if its a 3/5?  Example i wanted to tune an 99 audi a6 with the 2.8l

the solution for reading is to desolder and use a programmer. or if youre crafty there are other ways to dump it.
mpps will only write.
551ah is m5.92.

What chip are we desoldering? Is that only on the m5.92 desoldering is needed?
