vw T4 ecu which software for read n write PLEASE!.
« on: January 02, 2015, 12:24:38 AM »
I have two ECU's for my 97 transporter 2.0lt and I would like to read and save the information on both then use this info to clone onto the other one, I would need to use a program(s) for this. Can you tell me which ones can do this easily and may include the ability to program immobilizer out. I'm in the middle of trouble shooting electronic faults and swapping ecu is on the list.
Part no. 044 906 024
And. 044 906 024 E

This is very old ecu, you cannot "read" it. You have to open it and remove/desolder eprom and eeprom and read it with device-programmer...

Oh no, I would like to avoid desoldering.....just saving and cloning are required, maybe an easy way for that?.
Even desoldered the equipments not readily available.
Primarily clone information to the other with the vans vagcom port with a laptop program.

Clone = read and then write.
Not very familiar with that ecu but believe it'll nred desoldering, or at least reading with a clip. I've never tried that, but from reading posts here, desoldring seems more reliable.

Thankyou for your suggestions, desoldering is out because I make a hash of it with boards and never get it soldered to it.
Even if I get it out somehow what do I use to clip on to it for reading? And program?
It sounds very complex for something easily accessible via a computer...its a wonder it was not made for that.
I might just send it off for refurb.
