With the recent 07K B6/B7 swaps, I would like begin to define a bin.  Although at this point for me it is only fun/learning, but that may change.  I have targeted a 2006 ME7.1.1 ECU (Infineon, not ST10) hoping to use similar bins to define.

I have only started; will update this with new information as I go.

BIN:
ME7.1.1 Here
Code:
C:\ME7\ME7Logger_v1.23>me7check 07K906032AN 6738.bin
==============================================================================
me7check v1.12 (c) mki, 06/2004-05/2012
Checking file in.bin (size=1048576)
Reading Version Strings...
-> Bootrom Version = embedded in CPU, asume 06.02/06.05
-> EPK = 44/1/ME7.1.1/120/C1103F//24M/A1A06M5/190805/
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - '0261201290'         (SSECUHN)
   - '1037378537'         (SSECUSN)
   - '07K906032AN '       (VAG part number)
   - '6738'               (VAG sw number)
   - '2.5l R5/4V     '    (engine id)

-> No errors found. File is OK.   *********************

Read:
MPPS or galletto 1260 (to be confirmed)

Checksum:
ME7sum – not working
ECUfix – not supported

Flash:
Boot mode

Rich, ditch the ST10 ecu, get an earlier C167 model. 2006. It's the very best option.

Shoot, thanks DD thought I had found one based on the year.  How did you know (besides that your awesome Smiley) that the bin above was ST10?  Any way to know without opening ECU?

Nevermind. Your ecu is a 2006, automatic. When you said no checksums, I assumed you had the bastard ST10 ecu!

This? I know it's labeled on the processor, but which years have this ecu?

2006 and early 2007 have the C167. Late 07-early 08 have ST10. 09+ has MED17.

I have worked with them all. The early ones are VERY much like the rest of ME7. The ST10 ecus are horrible.

So is it just the 4.2's and the 2.5's that have the ST-10 processor?

Thanks DD.  Not the best candidate ecu but will start with this and look for an 07K 906 032 C out of a early manual beetle.

No, there are many more. Most notably the 3.2.
