Hello Looking for some direction please help! I cannot make heads or tails from this. I finally had some time try out the Nefmoto Software,  Took a little playing around to get the cable to work and get connect to the ecm, but I got it.  After, lots of reading and re-reading forums and tutorials.  I read my stock file and saved them to my laptop.  I was playing around with baud rates and generally just feeling my way around, (baby steps ofcourse!!)  As I was astonished that I could get it to connect and read the ecm, as I have been having a very hard time connecting.

At this point I got a bit bold and...

I thought I would try to write the original tune back to the ecm and see what happens. I tried to see if the file matched and it did, so I figured what could it hurt??
So I tapped the write button and away it went, did its thing, all was well!  the car ran well too!

Today, I went to start my car and slight low battery and now the engine is miss firing and chugging etc.  undrivable.

Is there anything I could have done wrong?  I mean it was the stock file, Or am I missing something?

1.8T 8E0909518AK,  I used the memory layout 29F800BB

I checked the DTCs with vcds random miss fires and what not,  P30 terminal low voltage if that makes sense.  (dead battery I am thinking)

Please help, any help would be appreciated.   Thanks in advance

The first instinct is to attack the different thing.

The flashing had nothing to do with your current issues.

After flashing the ecm. I went for a test drive and smoked a raised manhole hard (really rough roads).  I didn't think the flashing of the ecm did anything after a barrage of panic set in. I rechecked the flash said it matched and was good.  Just looking for some confirmation.

Coincidence I guess! Grin

Thanks for the reply I will check the wiring to #3 & #4 coils make sure they are good.

Thank you!  I found the issue causing the rough idle,  There was a bung the was cracked off in the block, under the intake manifold.  Thank you!
