You can use any program that can edit hex. You will also need to checksum the file after you make the changes.

so I try using my  (abox).bin file with the stage 1 mbox .xdf in tuner pro just to bump up my boost. I thought it was a good place to start. I flashed my .bin with the tunerpro adjustments and everything worked great. I test drove it and the boost really responded better. however I shut the car off pat my self on the back and now I can't get it to start. I am able to get it to start if I disconnect the battery and jump  pin 24 with the key on I can get it start once. I also went into vcds and went to coding it said I have a mbox. so I entered the software code and then it started up twice. but now I'm back to ground 0. it wont start unless I ground that pin. please help I have no car now

You never corrected your checksums.

Don't use an M-box xdf with an A-box file.

I understand that now. I read it as, the mbox .xdf the definitions were the same as an abox. but I do want to end up with it converted to a mbox. theres way more support for it. but the big question is what do I do now?Huh?

so I left the battery unplugged for a bit and come and get it to boot into bootmode. Or wat I believe to bootmode. I can hear the fuel pump and it will start once. but I can also connect via nefmoto. it reads the ecu and says this is the ram. I hope this helps me lol. my wife is not impressed

use nefmoto to restore the stock image. Hopefully you won't actually need bootmode (which no, you are not in).

Also: why did you build a single turbo system w/o planning on tuning first? That is to say: either knowing how to tune, or finding an actual tuner?

I'm trying to get to flash back. I'm almost there. I'm gonna try to run current flash threw checksum and re write it then flash it back.

I had to plans to send to send the ecu out for a tune. But I was out of budget. So I figured what a better way to learn than to grab the bull by horns.

Cost should never be the primary consideration for DIY. You can easily spend more money, and a TON more time.

I should have you talk to my wife. I had a little room on the card to. but live and learn. so about bot mode any help?Huh I had it so I could get about 12% threw flashing a new .bin. but then it would say something like looking for memory 00088fff. I would reconnect and it might go a couple % more before same thing. then finally say it could not do it. I will try more tomorrow. im going to run this is ram threw a checksum and every other file I flash for that to.

Checksum the file, connect, change the baud to 38400. This is only valid if you haven't yet turned the key off on the attempted flash. If you have, it needs a bootmode recover.

ok so this morning I went out and flashed my original a box file back onto the ecu. it went great. I did run the "this is ram" though check sum and it found 12 errors. I open it up in a hex editior and everything is all ff's. So anyway I got it back running and I learned to use checksum!! my last question is if errors are found with checksum what can I do to fix them. just try edit the hex???

I have tried the programs you have linked. ecu plot and even downloaded java. I never got it to work right. I have me7check sum witch I should of used in the first place. and yes the tuning guide that I should of read better. I keep trying to flash a .bin file to my ecu. I have gotten 100% and started it a couple times. then when I tried flash anther file to it witch I ran threw the checksum and it was good I only get at most 45% before it fails. please help
