I've been trying to get ME7logger working for quite some time now and have been getting huge amounts of problems.
First, I got that the ftd2xx library cannot be located.

I installed the VCDS VCP for my interface and I wasn't really sure what the hell I was doing. I called VCDS and they said they havent updated that driver in 7 years! They also havent delt with any technical support with it so they had no idea what to do for me. I installed the VCP driver using the download off their site and their instructions. I used the FTDI port setup information (not the FTDI bus information) from the folder downloaded, should I have used the Bus? The FTD2xx error went away and now I am getting this after the install:

Cable only works with some baud rates: 19200 and 125000

Not sure why such drastic swings in data transfer compatibility with the cable. Anyone have any ideas?

And could someone explain fast init to me and why my cable can't use it?

If I had to guess; some cables have shittier clock chips than others.

fast/slow init is a function of what the ECU supports.

Even the genuine ross-tech vcds cable? seems odd that a company like that would chince on that.

Either way, I final got ME7logger working and taking logs. Time to start changing things!
