Hey Guys.
I´m right back with new problems:
My actual situation:
-Cluster Audi A3 with full FIS (8L0920932M, Magneti Marelli, i know, it´s bad but it worked well and i´ve got a lot of Spare parts for it)
-ECU Audi A3 1.8t AUM (06A906032FC)

Both are Immo 3.
SKC from Cluster: 03901
SKC from ECU: 1043

Parts are bought used, ECU with Engine together, Cluster separately.
All should be placed in my VW Polo 6N.

With 95040tool i changed the FIN in the ECU to the FIN of my Polo.
Where Immo Data is written in the ECU I wrote some other Data (*POLO_6N_20VT*)

Checksum corrected and flashed back into ECU.

ECU worked finde, all data can bei read with CarPort and VAGcom. No faults.

I´ve two keys adapted to the cluster, Immo Light turns on the off whe i switch ignition.  I´ve one key without transponder in it, Immo Light will flashing. So it seems okay.

Now i will adapt the Cluster to the ECU to use the Immobilizer in full function and to have my POLO Fin in Cluster.
I know i can drive with Immo Off but i will try to get it work... If nothing helps then i will drive the ECU with Immo Off.

I tried following with diagnostic tools (CarPort and Old VAG Com Version, all the same):
-Instruments (17)
-Login with 03901 - success
-Adaption (10)
-Channel 50 read: 32000
-Edit Channel to ECU SKC (01043)
-Test
-Save

-Adaption 00
-Read and Save

After a few secondes the FIN in den Info Fileld from Cluster should be changed to FIN of the ECU.

But.... Nothing happens Sad

I tried vice versa for test (01-Engine, Login with 01043, Channel 50 change to 03901, test-save), nothing happens.

What do i wrong?!
For moment I tried this all on my Bench... All connected right but i´ve no key so Immo Light will flashing. Must it be off to match ECU and Cluster successfully?

Please help me Smiley

Much thanks for reading (sorry for my poor english, i´m german and that´s all i knew from school)

Best regards,
Flo

IMHO it is not going to work properly as your ECU is up to MY2002 while your instrument cluster is from MY2002. If it both were Volkswagen parts they would work, but Audi is much different. You should use 06A906032SG or 032HK (Euro2 only) ECU, or just try to crossflash your ECU with proper dump (do it only if you are able to recover in bootmode!).

Oh no... Really?!

The ECU is from Audi A3 from 04.2001

I do so much things to become SKC from Cluster and then it don´t work Sad

Should i really buy a new ECU?!

Can i use the Flash from my ECU for a SG or HK ECU? My ECU is chipped from SKN and i wanna use this normally.

You can not use your dump in different ECU as it would make same issues. What you can do is to try if SG or HK stock dump will work in your ECU (also checking if it will solve immobilizer related issue) and then try to copy changes made by SKN in FC dump to your new code base.

I would not try to cross-flash if you are not able to recover in boot mode.

EDIT: You can also try to use up to MY2001 instrument cluster (8L0 920 931F which uses radio clock or 8L0 920 931K without radio clock functionality).

Oh my god... I can´t believe how complicated it is Sad

Okay, i can´t use my Flash in another ECU.. Mmmh...

I don´t know how to read the Flash and save it to disk, if i know i would try a dump from a SG or HK ECU. Problem: The SKN Tuning is gone...
For copying the changes from SKN into the SG or HK dump i´ve not enough skills, i think...

I´m able to set my ECU in boot mode, so i flashed the 95040 with the new FIN... But is this enough to play with the Flash?! I don´t really think so...

You say i can use a 931F or 931K cluster...
Are you sure that will work? I found one cluster (8L0920931FX) nearly by me... If you are 100% sure that will work i will buy this cluster an sell my old one.

By the way: How can i read the eeprom from my cluster? I asked months ago how can i pull the SKC... With my tools (VAG Tacho, K+Can Commander) it won´t work.
I sent the cluster to an specialised cluster technican... He said it was strong but he can pull the SKC an set the cluster to virgin mode with soldering wires into my cluster to read the eeprom.... This sounds not really hard, so maybe i can do it myself at the next cluster... The technican tells me not how he do this so i don´t know where he soldered the wires and which hard/software he used...My cluster has a MC68HC912, there will also be stored all data.

If you were able to boot mode your ECU you should be able to read flash (so your SKN tune would not be gone) using Nefmoto software (not in boot mode, I would try it in the car with immobilizer set to off inside 95040). Same way you should be able to flash stock SG/HK dump, then switch immobilizer to on in 95040 and check if you can adapt it.
To copy SKN tune to SG/HK dump you need just 2 things - FC and SG/HK definition (it is up to you if it will be XDF for TunerPro or KP/OLS for WinOLS) - you just compare your SKN tune with stock FC file (be sure to use same software version) using any hex editor (HxD is my choice but you can use any), note addresses of all changes, then check what represents each changed byte using FC definition (is it a constant, a map axis or a map value) and make exactly same changes to your new SG/HK using its definition to find proper location. If axis values for maps would be different you can do 2 things - interpolate new values or copy whole maps with their axes (it is tricky because some axis are shared between maps and you can miss that you should copy also other maps).

Regarding using different instrument cluster - those are just parts found in ETKA for MY2001 A3. While they should just work I am not going to guarantee they will. If the cluster you are able to buy is made by VDO it should be much easier to read it out, even your tools should be good to do that. MM/Jaeger clusters are unfortunately hard to work with.

Okay, thanks for your detailed reply!

I´ve downloaded a stock FC and a stock SG bin file...

Now i´ve to read the flash in my ecu...
you say i can use the nefmoto software... cany ou please tell me where i get? I tried to search but i didn´t found...

Just for me because i´m very interestet in this:
I don´t understand why my ecu and my cluster don´t match the immobilizer data.

My cluster is from an Audi A3 with 150HP 1.8t AUM Engine
My ECU is from another Audi A3 with 150HP 1.8t AUM Enigine

What´s different between the units that they can´t match?! Perhaps you can explain?!

/edit: oh oh... i must have anything on my eyes... downloaded nefmoto software now, i try to read my ecu in an hour

There are support threads regarding Nefmoto software. I am not able to help you as I have never used that (I own genuine Kess 2).

Regarding your question why your cluster and ECU do not want to talk to each other - AFAIK it is something connected to A3 being after full lift model or not. MY2001 were not full lift while MY2002 were. Your situation is somewhat similar to one trying to use normal petrol instrument cluster with ECU from 180HP version in A3 - they do not work together, for 180HP ECU you need 180HP cluster for proper model year.

EDIT:
You should use lower speed (124800 seems too much) and 29F800BB layout AFAIK. It might be the case that your tune is locked from being read by OBD. If it is the problem the only solution would be to read your ECU in boot mode using different tool (MPPS/Galetto) or to desolder flash memory and read it in external programmer.

Okay, i´ll read a bit in the nefmoto software threads, perhaps there is a clue that helps to get the file...

I think also that the file is protected from reading over OBD by SKN... Shit Sad

That Cluster and ECU can´t commuicate the immobilizer data won´t going in my brain... I can´t believe that 1 MY is so important  Cry
All other functions are okay... Speedometer, engine speed, all control lights... Only immo don´t match Sad

Okay, now i will think about a little bit...
1. Now i can buy a new cluster and hope that immo works...
2. I can find someone that can read my flash so i can play a little bit with my flash...
or
3. I leave everything as it is, turn immo off in my ECU and drive, immo light in cluster works...

One more question:

If i buy a new cluster i´ve to learn my keys into that, right... Can i use the keys that learned to my old cluster or do i need new transponder chips for the keys?

I thank you so much that you help me with my problem Wink

you can only readapt a key to the same immo system. so your (new) cluster and ecu must be paired with the original immo data, then you can readapt the key to the cluster using the original transponder.

I do not think it will happen as now he got MM cluster so I do not think anyone would be able to get all relevant data to put into another (VDO for example or different MM as it is what is needed) cluster so I assume new transponders would be required.

That is why I would go change ECU code base way...

Hey... here i´m again.

I´ve got good news, now i could pull the bin from my ECU...
The clue was i need put Pin 121 of the ECU on 12V... After i did that, Nefmoto Software reads my Flash...

Now i´ve my 032FC SKN tuned bin, a 032FC stock bin and a 032SG bin... I´ll try to attach them to this post.

Do you think it´s possible to write an APX (225HP) bin to my ECU? Perhaps i will change parts of my Engine to K04 Equipment in future (Turbo, Manifold, Intercooler, Exhaust and all around it)... Only a question for me Wink

I would just adapt your ECU for K04 related parts.
