If you mean it requires new WinOLS, count me in (I have genuine WinOLS license).

Does EVC have a portable, version independent, parsable, complete map pack format yet? You'd think for the amount of money they are charging, they'd work on a decent import/export system that doesn't blow utter ass.

(...) You'd think for the amount of money they are charging, they'd work on a decent import/export system that doesn't blow utter ass. But why would they spend time (= money) on doing something they do not have to do? Owners of license do not have choice, they just have to update their software so across those who use legal WinOLS there are no issues with sharing projects nor map packs. Why would they care about those who did not pay for license?

Because that is what a good developer does - they make tools that are portable and flexible, regardless of whether or not it makes money.

to me it was money well spent. support with constant updates. the license is not only for the software, it also allows access to the reseller service as well. which i have used several times. very convenient when needing something quickly without having to ask friends to ask their friends and wait on a response. I'm more than happy with their product.

Except they still don't have a portable map pack format, which is the topic at hand here And even worse, the .kp format seems to be DELIBERATELY broken to force you to upgrade, and even making interoperability between *fully paid for, legit versions* a pain the ass.

but the only fully legit paid versions are up-to-date versions. you must always update. everyone is always on the same version.

I don't see how this excuses their behavior (and the poor design of the .kp format).
