Hey Everyone,

Been a long time lurker and have been reading up on the proper procedures how to do things. I finally got the time to actually install the software and try to read / edit the files.

Everything went smooth until i had to do a full read of the ECU. I get the following error; Validation failed, ECU reports RequestUpload service is not supported. RequestUpload may have been disabled by aftermarket engine software.

The car is a 2002 A4 1.8T and its stock ( boost 8-10 psi). Ive read a few posts where guys ran into this issue when they were trying to bench flash. I am not trying to bench flash, I left the ECU in the car.

Ive tried playing with the baud rates, tried slow and fast int(fast didnt work at all). Installed different Ftdi drivers. I tried each memory layout with different baud rates. I can read ecu Info with no issues.

Current setup: Windows 7 x64, OEM Rosstech cable, VCDS 14.10 with boot intelligent mode turned off. FTDI drivers from the website and the ones that rosstech suggested. ( http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/usb/virtual-com-port.html )

Nefmoto rarely reads B6 ecus. It does however write them easily.

youve owned the car for the past 13yrs to know its never had a trial?

you can use a stock file, same soft version. no need to read yours.

No I have not... But I have talked with the previous owner(s) and they have no knowledge of the car ever having a tune or a trial. They have no reason to lie to me...but anyways, anything is possible

I will grab a stock file from here and play with it.

Thanks for the quick answers guys!
