Hi all,

I have a 2001 golf 1.8t with aum engine. I have replaced the original injectors with audi TT 225 BHP ones (386cc flow rate) and I have also obtained and fitted a maf from a TT225.

I have calculated krkte and altered it to 0.0884 in the map (it was originally 1.0xxxx) and I have altered the maf scaling (mlhfm) to accommodate the larger housing.

Checksums have been corrected and the bin passes a check.

My intention is now to flash this to the car and get out and do some afr and duty cycle logging with a view to correcting the trims and eventually raising boost (safely)

Have I gone in the right direction with this? If someone could sense check that for me and tell me if there is anything else I need to do before experimenting with the file on the actual car then that would be amazing.

One question I do have however is should I be using my original maf element in the larger housing or use the element that came with the housing?

I will post the bin when I get the laptop charged, the battery flattened on me whilst I was working on it.

Many thanks for any help, I'm still very new at this.

hi
you forget about FKKVS, KVB and TVUB to properly scale injectors.
also if you just changed MLHFM then just swap housing with your original maf sensor.
or copy MLHFM from TT file and swap it all Smiley because there is about 10% difference as i remember
log before and after btw

also bigger maf are not neccesarry on k03s, stock housing limit ~210g/s . k03s ~ 180g/s  Undecided

good luck

Thank you that's given me plenty to work on. I have now set FKKVS and I think I have a good value for KVB but even after some searching I can't fathom out what I need to do with TVUB. Can anyone help ?

Thanks,

copy from tt file

Hi, I'm back to work on this after finally getting hold of a spare ECU and a Galletto cable in case of mishaps Smiley

Plus I spent some time in hospital and took a new job but that's another story.

I have been looking around for values for TVUB and trying to understand them but so far I'm a bit stumped.

I opened several TT files but the values held there for TVUB vary massively from what my original file holds.

screenshot attached. Am I looking at the wrong map in the TT file (I'm not positive my definition file for it is correct) ?

If anyone could help me understand what that map does that would be amazing.

Thanks,

I looked further and would have liked to scale properly so I tried to find a datasheet for my bosch 0280156063 injectors but after searching many many sites and bosch repositories, I cannot find one. Does anyone have one ?

Failing that does anyone know real values for TVUB for TT225/LCR injectors ?

Thank you.

Are you doing this the hard way for the purpose of learning? Why not just transfer all related values from the TT file?

A bit of both to be honest. I would rather learn than copy stuff yes but I would just copy the values over from the TT225 file, if I could get them. All the files I've tried so far I haven't been able to find TVUB so the definitions I have for them must be wrong.

OK I got everything changed that I needed to change as detailed above.

I found a post which told me the values of TVUB for my injectors and I copied that data across.

I also found (and edited) ESKONF to remove the SAI system which I intend to blank off and physically remove and with some help from S4Wiki, even though it wasn't defined in my map pack, I found the correct byte sequence and changed what I needed to (AA FF 00 30 FF F8 30 became AA FF 00 30 FF FB 3C)

I double checked the values entered for everything I had changed and corrected the checksum and cross checked with ME7Check that it was ok.

Flashed the file from a virtual machine on my MacBook using my FTDI cable.

The car started fine and ran terribly for a minute or so. Is this normal ? A bit of coughing and spluttering and it purred into life.

I left the car to idle for a while and got no CELs at all. If I pushed the accelerator it would missfire a little and then run nicely again. Eventually this all smoothed out and seemed to be running nicely. I unplugged the SAI pump connection and got no CEL.

Went for a half hour drive. I don't want to be too dramatic but it seemed like the planets had aligned or something !

I haven't had the opportunity to do any logging or anything but the car feels much more responsive all the way through the rev range, like it was choking up before.

Just to be clear, I had already physically changed the MAF and injectors some time ago and it had already been running on a generic stage 1/2 map of unknown origin, but I hadn't had a chance to make the changes needed. When I had changed them performance dropped off a little but only a little.

Before these changes it had been peaking at around 1.5 bar boost and by calculation of MAF throughput, developing about 190BHP

Now it's showing 2.3 bar boost and 235BHP (again by calculation).

I don't fully understand it all yet but any pointers of what to look at next as regards logging and checks would be gratefully received. I'm not using the car a great deal anyway as I cycle to work so it will take as long as it needs to to get it right.

Thanks everyone for the help so far.

The TVUB hasn't been properly defined in the TT file, that's why it looks so funky.  There's a fully defined CB file on here that would be perfect for this.

Since you're using standard TT injectors and a standard TT MAF, there's no need for trial and error - just copy the values from the TT file straight across.

KRKTE, FKKVS, KVB and TVUB to properly scale injectors.

For MAF; MLHFM and KFKHFM.  Copy all of this from the TT file.

If you need values from the file just say, and I'll get them from the defined file I've got at home and post them here.

Get some logs up Smiley

Thanks. I think I've done all that by hook or by crook. The car is running a little rough when stone cold but only for a minute or so. Once warmed at all it seems sweet.

What do I need to log ? Is there a noob guide anywhere ?

Many thanks,

The Wiki is pretty much a good guide to getting stuff done.  You've also not coded out SAI properly either..

Do you mean the mslub table ? Any pointers at where I might find it on a HJ box ?

I can't seem to find it at any of the offsets I've seen mentioned.

Thanks,

I can have a look when I get home if you want.  You could post your file up and I'll do it for you and post it back, won't take me long.

Means other people can see it too! Smiley
