I have a project car that had the usual FIS display pixel problem. I also have a spare parts car that had a working fis display which gave me this royal idea to read the cluster eeprom from the original cluster and write it to the spare cluster. That in my mind would remove the need to explain about the mileage difference and all the hassle with adapting the immobilizer.

Of course everything went downhill from there. I wrote the eeprom file and hey presto, bricked the "new" cluster. I still have the original working so not extremely bad but maybe it would have been helpful if I had read the spare cluster eeprom before overwriting it. Total lapse of reasoning. So now I'm looking at roughly 150€ to get the original cluster fis display replaced if I cannot find the right binary for this spare part.

I can still connect to the cluster, read it and presumably write it too but all the info is garbled. I'm using VAG Eeprom programmer if that is of relevance.

Part number on back of the cluster is 4B0919880A, 110.008.807/002.
I flashed it with dump from 4B0919880H which is from a '99 A6 2.4 manual. Is there any other file I can write that would work.

I already found this file on MHHAuto forums. I don't have an user account there and it's invitation only so we'll see. If that doesn't work out, is there someone here who can download files from MHHAuto and maybe relay it here?

Okay, I got a response from mhhauto asking 10$ for the registration. Not that much I guess so I paid it. Now waiting for the invitation code.

e: Got the file, I'll upload it here too.
