If you want your dash to be a Christmas tree and you want to ha e your car stuck in second gear go for it. Otherwise I'd use the l box base file... Auto equivilent of m box file.

So i have another question , thear`s two reason for my post, first my ecu is damaged and i find a lot of s4 ecu most of them 8d0907551D ,only one ecu like my 4B0907551G  extreamly expensive. And i wondering is thear any hardware difference between any ECU of 2.7t ( excep those with 512kb flash) , or you can swap every file you want from 2.7. The immo is easy remove , so is thear another problem to swap files and make different Ecu ?? And one good reason to drive with s4 files ......thear much more definition for them and no one for my ecu.
Thanks in advanced to all Smiley

Those ecus are the same hardware, they are crossflashable as long as the flash is the same size.

Your car is a tiptronic A6 with a Bosch MAF.

You flashed a manual S4 file with a Hitachi MAF.

You need to flash an L-box converted to Bosch if you want to take advantage of a well defined file.

The problem is the word "cross flashing" can mean a lot of different things.

1) The ECU has to be compatible with the software you are flashing to it (ME7.1.1 vs ME7, 1M vs 512k)
2) The you have to have the right harness for the ECU (ME7.1.1 vs ME7)
3) The car has to be equipped with the hardware for the software you are running (MAF, trans)
4) The eeprom and cluster have to be coded correctly for the car (ESP, CAN, Immo, trans, etc).

Also, MPPS won't allow you to change SW on 7.1 ecus. Doing so results in a semi-brick, stuck in programming mode.
