Well, I was able to revive the ECU with the Galletto after all.

I followed the above procedure after I noticed that I had the K Line wired incorrectly into the L Line of the OBD plug.

Stupid me.

Hey Steve,

How did you manage to read/write it in boot mode?  I can't for the life of me manage to get it to work?  The ECU seems to be in boot mode as I can't conned with Nefmoto or VCDS anymore but just does not want to read or write?  Did you end up having to unsolder the 000 resistor on the back fo the ECU?

Ok, figured it out....  Turned out it was the Voltage that was too high?  Based on what I read I thought it best to use a > 13v source for bench flashing, I used 13.7v.  Turns out Galletto did not like that but rather prefered 11.7v and with that works every time.
