The instructions on my software don't even show the same ECU board of my computer from my 2005 Audi S4. I'm so disgusted with Ktag. Seems to be junk... There is no way to even while you're at how it shows, I have it hooked up the best I can based on the instructions that it gives, but there is a connection error issue.

Can anybody tell me if the software can even hook up to my ecu?

Here is what I have hooked up currently:

Here is the wiring instruction on my ksuite software for Ktag:

Somebody informed me that there are different protocols, it was telling me my car was protocol 52, but it's actually 50. Now it shows me the correct EC you, but it still will not work.

It says there is a connection issue whenever I try to read that ecu with my K tag.

I changed the protocol like you said, and the correct instructions came up. However, it still gives me a pop up that communication error please check power and connections.

Is there a way to test it? I bought it from a very reputable seller, and it's european(was pretty expensive). I have also messaged him to see if there's anyway to test the unit.

The red light goes on when I plug it in, and when I hit read, the green light lights up until the error message occurs.

you bought a "pretty expensive" pile of shit.
buy a real one.

then you can bother them with your problems instead of asking others for free help because youre cheap.

Sorry for talking like that, but that was rude and not helpful at all. If everyone knew everything, nobody would post.

Hi some S4 V8 ECUs only have CAN ! K-Line will not work.

Best way for ME7.1.1 Can is desoldering.

Why would you desolder when you can bootmode?

you 100% missed my point.
my point was: youre here because you bought a cheap cloned pile of crap with NO type of support.
if you had bought a genuine tool, you could contact alientech for all the support help you need.

Nitrorocket, when you say your S4 is a 2005, is it a B6 (i.e. early 2005) or a B7 (i.e. 2005.5+)

I have a B6 2005 S4 and I can communicate/flash my ECU with the Nefmoto flashing software as long as I do it on the bench.

What I found worked was:

1) put the ECU into bootmode

2) read your EEPROM to make sure you have a backup

3) Use Argdub's 90540 reading software to read the immobilizer code and back that up too

4) once you have the EEPROM and immo coding, then disable the immobilizer (here's some pics on how to do it http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=9030.60)

5) From there, you should be able to flash on the bench without putting it in boot mode every time. I've successfully cloned my '05 560G tiptronic ECU with immobilizer coding onto an '04 560A 6 speed ECU that way, so I know for fact that it works. The only thing is that I still can't flash with the ECU in the vehicle. But it's better than not being able to at all or having to constantly put the ECU in boot mode

That's a good clue.
On clone units 2 or 4 wires are mixed.
Check the attachment for proper pinout.
