Cross ECU compadibility
« on: December 22, 2015, 08:31:34 PM »
Is there a process of seeing what ECU's are compatible with each others files. I know i have read some things about some ME7.X ECU's that you can do this with, but I'm curious about some of the MED9 VAG ECU's
For example I have tuned files for a 1K0907115H & 1K0907115B and I wanted to know if the are compatible with 8P0907115B.

well your 2 have the same # on them. 8p0 115b.
2.0t med9 are all the same. hardware wise. i wouldnt go using different files on different cars.
always use same number.

Yeah I was more curious on the 2.0t side if they are compatible with each other. Sounds like that's the case from what you are saying.

Before any once else tries this. I flashed my 8P0907115B with a file from 1K0907115H and it is not compatible...
I was able to write it to the the ECU but afterwards it is now instantly not able to be written to or BDM'ble readable (Tried with BDM100 and Galetto 4. Micro not supported). MPPS says "Conditions not met" which makes me think its a security issue and I need to IMMO off the EPROM)
It does however work to read via MPPS and VCDS reads and recognizes it just fine. Another tuner here in town has a tool to probe just the EPROM by itself. I'm going to try that and try to IMMO off and see if I can get MPPS to recover to the other file.
