Hi,

A friend of mine has a little problem.

The car is a polo 86c with a 1.6L engine 125hp (na)

We put some kind of burst flow turbo onto it and the car did 270hp at 1 bar one the dyno.

Now the problem:

To get the car with this setup through the German TÜV we have to get the engine down to a maximum of 158hp.

Any ideas how to keep the internals as they are by capping at 158hp ?

Maybe an air restricor ? Like they use in rally sport ? Wouldn't it harm the turbo (maybe vacuum in front of the compressor because of the restrictor ?)

Was also my first thought.

But what if the turbo produces with full open waste gate still too much power.

With ignition angle i think is also limited to raising egt (if I'm not wrong)
