I have had some camshafts in development that apply to the 2.7t v6. Its an aggressive set of intake/exhaust cams and in a beta test phase. So far the only complaint is that the cars dont "sound cammed out", basically people want the lope sound that you hear on an Evo or v8 or whatever has a different head design or vvt situation and is fighting misfire at idle due to overlap.
Our 5v heads, at idle with our high lift, long duration and advanced turbo grind or even the stock grind for that matter will never sound poppy and jumping the way that some want because there is no overlap. However with basically any cams on a 2.7t (or 2.8, 1.8, 2.0, ect) using vvt you can achieve a nice cammed sound by forcing overlap at idle and disabling a few misfire items and changing some codewords.
This technique is nothing new, in the Mustang world they call if Ghost Cams and Ford even does it with a special key on the Boss 302. Many tuner communities do it and I have not seen it in our world yet. After much bugging from testers and realizing I want it myself I set it up and it works well. I figure the VAG scene could use one more software thing.
***disclaimers!- This will basically kill all misfire function at idle. This will waste fuel at idle. This will make your car run rough at idle, do your homework on whats happening, people will probably glare at you more than normal depending on how open your exhaust is. I have tested this in a limited capacity on my shop stk car and our stage 3 ko4 car with stock cams, for all I know at this point it will cause premature wear on tensioners from running at idle on low pressure and or completely destroy your whole car with you in it and should be used by no one

List of maps on Me7.1 I needed to change to get the sound and even vehicle rocking action sought. I am sure there is more to expand on here to make it as aggressive sounding as you want. Looking forward to what it sounds like on the 1.8t, will get a before and after video asap as well as test on different setups. So far my best idle speeds on the v6 for this seem to be about 850 rpm.
Edit: added mbox locations for maps not in normal defs.
KFDLUR rough running deviation, I FFed these in the idle range

CWNWGE 1894a -to allow cam adjustment independent of being in gear
NKRF -upped to disable knock control at idle
CWNWLL 1894b -To allow cam adjustment at idle
NMIDLU kill misfire recognition at idle, possibly redundant
TMNWLLKHE 17165 -temp threshold
RLSALULL -bumped up to keep surge recognition happy, possibly redundant
NMIALU -bumped up to keep misfire recognition happy, possibly redundant
KFNW -make note of use of first cell, and adjustment of rpm and load axis to tailor, idea is to kill just out of idle and not have dips when leaving the line during cam change to off for normal low end operation
KFZWMN -upped min ignition angle in the idle range, I have found that it likes to stay BTDC
RLSALULL -upped first cell at idle
