The MAF is like 85mm but tapers for stock airbox to I think 78mm if i remember correctly. 


Basically what kind of formula am i searching for here?  to guestimate rough size based on two different sized openings?  how does this affect airflow having a taper about an inch from the maf element?

IMO there is literally no way of predicting how a MAF is going to act.

Either have it flowbenched (with the ENTIRE intake you intend to use) or it up a dyno and trial and error.

I'm thinking of doing this soon with my HPX sensor on my X-1 intake.  There really isn't any more accurate of a way than this, yeah?
