A local garage has a customer with a corrupted emcs Mbox s4.  They need it on the road asap, all that is available that may work is a 4Z7 907 551K allroad ecu.  If i immo defeat and flash s4 software will i be ok? anyone try this?

I know allroad has more advanced can system(supposedly) any input from someone that has done this?

There are several AR ecus which are identical to the S4 ME7 2.7t ecu.

I always assumed all were identical (hardware wise). If that isn't true, i'd love to hear details...

The BEL Allroads ecu is different on the inside, from the APB ones...for instance, the eeprom in underneath the BEL and on top of the 2000-2002 ecus 2.7 S4 or A6....but then again, its a 7.1.1 ecus and maybe its just an updated look Smiley

You will have to modify the pins for the connectors to fir properly. I wouldn't do it.

There is ME7.1, ME7.1.1 and ME7.5

You MUST keep it in the same ECU type.
If its ME7.1.1 then you can only flash a ME7.1.1 file.

I would like to eventually do this as well.. but so that I can ADD IMMO to my S4 using either an Allroad or A6 ECU...

I don't get why this would be that difficult seeing as the M-box file works flawless on an 02 Allroad and 01 A6 2.7T that I recently flashed...

Thats because the 02 Allroad is stil ME7.1 and has the APB engine.  03 A6 and allroads have BEL engines and ME7.1.1
