Hi everyone
I'm going to convert my 1999 narrowband s3 to wideband.
I ordered a 032HJ Ecu for 60€ :-) and my first idea was to run the car with the 032hj file and copy the needed values from a S3 file (maf, injector scale etc...) Because I thougt it is very complicated to disable egt. Now I red that I only have to set CDATR, CDATS, CLAATR, CLAATS to 0 and it will be fine. Is that correct ? If yes would you think that it makes more sense to use a S3 file for example 018J ? I have a good xdf for it so I would lile to use this one.
Thanks in advance

It'll be much easier and faster to run 018J then changing so many values in 032HJ. Remember about eeprom too.

32hj ecu will be fine and just run the 018h software on it coding out the stuff you don't have IE EGT.

I can provide you with flash and eeprom from 8N0906018BH ecu. I always use this software for wideband conversion. I have kp for it to make "OFFs" easy.

Wo do we need to change for this conversion? Just the O2 sensor?

Hardware wise you need to run a few extra wires, change the O2 sensor and fit a different connector.

The hardware end you are removing 1 o2 sensor from the harness and adding a new sensor that has 2 more wires then the previous sensor. You'll also need to code out vvt or add it. Swap ecus take care of your eeprom for immo on the new ecu and calibrate for wideband. Really any wideband me7.5 from a A chassis car will work fine. If you have a 6 speed use a 6 speed file or you man not have cruse control in final drive. Good luck. Marty

Well, besides VVT there is SAI, rear o2 and so on, but coding that out is not a hardware thing.

Thank you all for your replies ! :-) and special thanks to "aef" for his help via Facebook
The 032hj ECU just arrived and I was able to read out both 512 byte eproms. (old and new one)
old Narroband ECU is 018N new Wideband ECU is 032HJ
My old ECU has FF FF at this point where the login code has to be. I attached the files and two pictures for a quick view.
Does it mean I have to replace 5F 26 in the new file with FF FF and the car will start ? If yes, than I have problems with calculating the checksums :-(
Could one of you please be so kind and fix my new file that I can put it back on the ECU ?

why not use original s3 wideband sw ? and eeprom ? just need reflash ecu immo off i think need not skc code different problem
need code out rear o2, vvt, egt, and enable LAMBTS component protection function and remove engine sai not necessary and factory code out s3 sw ..

I just made an immo off for 032hj and flashed 018J Software to it with no Problems.
Tomorrow I will start to code out EGT and VVT as said at the beginning of this thread.
What do I have to change, for the ecu to know when its time to switch to KFLBTS ? When is has no egt sensor anymore...
Thanks

Maybe, but I've never seen a car reaching high EGT at part throttle.

I just went for a test drive with the new ecu.
The car runs absolutly great ! Much better than before. Very smooth and good to handle.
@mss
That means I just have to disable EGT (and VVT) and ECU will follow LAMFA?
