well disaster struck. my read flash, mods with tunerpro and checksums via me7correction all went smooth. Go to run my write flash and my computer goes bluescreen. Laptop is toast wont even start back up. So I purchased a new one. But I'm stuck with a bricked ecu 8b0 907 551m and no galetto? cable. Ive already invested so much time and effort into this project and could really use some help on the current correct way to effectively rescue my bricked ecu... Anyone wanna point me in the right direction please?

Try logging into the ecu as it is and see if you can get a flashing session started. If that does not work, you'll have to put it into bootmode. You'll need software/hardware that is able to write in bootmode if that's the case.

Is this maybe the answer to my problems? Can it rescue a bricked e.c.u via boot mode write?

ME7_95040 is a console application that allows to program ME7 ecu's EEPROM.
It has been tested successfully on ME7.1 and 7.5 ecus.
Tool works with a dumb kline cable, either usb or serial.

For usage instructions, in a command line window run 'me7_95040 --help', it will display the program options with some examples.

The eeprom is a different device from the flash.

2 options to get your car running straight off. You can use a regular kkl cable with galletto but you need to patch the EPROM in the cable with the serial number that matches the serial number in the program. Then boot mode flash and you're on your way.
Other option is buy another apb ecu, it doesn't have to be a s4 or even a manual ecu. Auto a6 ecu are the cheapest and are easily cross flashable. If you use the m box file you won't need to immo off anything or flash the EEPROM. M box is non immo so it will ignore the kill command from the EEPROM. Good luck

Or get another ecu as noted above.  Also use an xp vm if you are having driver compatibility issues.

Windows XP Virtual Machine

and dont give the yard $85 for a old used chip when you can buy a brand spanking new one with faster access times for $1.
