I've seen in a handful of threads about setups hitting the ps_w cap and underscaling KFKHFM and KFLF as a workaround. Those threads all turned into 5120 talk  Smiley (I know this is the better solution). Could someone give an example of how to properly scale these maps to avoid maxing ps_w? I imagine I would taper downward (as load goes up) the highest load and rpm areas in KFKHFM, and do the same tapering upwards in KFLF. Changing the last 3 axis rows of load to match between both maps. Is this correct?

Yes, in a nutshell there is not any more to it than that.  Not much more to say here than what you already said.  Where ever you need extra overhead for ps_w is where you would scale back KFKHFM (and then scale up KFLF to balance the changes).
