Tested v1.9.7.1-rc0: it does now reach Connected — Slow init succeeded → Switching to KWP2000 session → Connected — which never happened before (old version always failed at the address complement step, 0 bytes, expected 0xEE). But it only stays connected for a few seconds before "Disconnecting because no response was received for the Tester Present message" (3 failed attempts). So it's not staying up long enough for a Full Read Flash.
Yeah, i deleted the post because there was no way -rc0 would work anyway, since the problem wasn't slowinit at all. On the ORI: I don't have another tool that can pull a full flash read (VCDS-Lite doesn't do that, and I don't have MPPS or anything similar). So I'm stuck getting you that ORI unless it's possible another way. Is there a smaller/faster read that might fit inside that few-second window, or a way to get what you need over KWP1281 instead since that already works reliably? Or should I just wait for a build that fixes the TesterPresent issue and try the full read again then? Whatever's most useful for you — happy to keep testing.
Yea, bootmode... nef supports it you just have to wire up the pin.

Thanks for the bootmode pointer — makes sense that it sidesteps the TesterPresent bug entirely. That said, I think a Galletto 1260 read via the ME7.5.5/ME7.1.5 OBD category will be easier given my experience level (no case-opening, no bench harness/pinout guesswork needed), so I'm planning to get one — will take a little while to arrive once I do. I'll send the ORI from that once it's in hand. Would you recommend Galletto for this, or is there a reason to prefer bootmode specifically for what you need from the dump?

Nefmoto supports bootmode. Just want to flash it to my ECU to see if it responds the same. As I said, i can't reproduce it with the file i have

The problem is on your end in one way or another, if you are not going to use nefmoto for flashing, start another thread.

Fair, though I did answer a direct question that was asked of me — and I'm still planning to post the ORI back here either way, so not sure "start another thread" is warranted. Nyet was the one who brought up bootmode as an option in the first place; explaining why I'm going a different route isn't exactly derailing the thread.

I'm ok with this discussion here as it may help others with flashing problems, even if its a bit of a digression.
In particular, if I can't reproduce your problem with your bin on the bench, there is something else wrong - likely the next step would be for you to get a bench setup. I realize that might not be feasible but I'm starting to doubt it's a flasher issue and more likely something else on the k-line that is interfering.

Galleto 1260 can work with any FTDI cable I have same ECU as yours I can read it with nefmoto flasher 06A HN right? But I have problem with writing, If I press diff write it still takes time like full write, and ECU stay in programing mode after flash. Same is with full write flash And 8E0909518 AL ECU it can't even start writing, memory layout validation failed and it won't start writing. No issuse ever with 1.9.4.3 version that I use for years

Latest nef supports bootmode with CH340 as well. But I have problem with writing, If I press diff write it still takes time like full write, and ECU stay in programing mode after flash. If you get a chance can you send me logs of both? If you cross flash to a different bin it works?

Yes no problem sending logs, I can test if you need any ME7 ECU, I have all versions This is with HN, I flashed with boot mode ori file (Worked) , than diff flash with same file (Worked), than try to flash file that is not original and it even don't try to flash it one hint: mod file does not have same ECU number )it is custom, but 1.9.4 version have flashed it 1000 times without problem

Any chance I can get you to try a few other versions to try to narrow down where it stopped working? I know it is a lot to ask. Trying to reproduce now.
Also if possible, add bins you are trying to flash. You can email me them nyet at nyet.org if you aren't comfortable posting them publicly.
TIA

On the previous page I took a log flashing the 032hn with a wire sniff too if you wanted something to look at
