Just posting to make sure my calculations are correct and that the values spit out by excel look accurate.

I scaled MLHFM by taking the area of the old MAF ID (pi*(2.340*2.340)) and area of the new MAF ID (pi*(2.850*2.850))
then divided them.

(pi*(2.340*2.340))/(pi*(2.850*2.850))
17.202/25.518=.6741

Does this look right?

Then i subtracted 200 from each of the 512 rows (my map pack actually doesn't have an address for MLOFS, anyone know it? I believe its a HS box 1.8t. I do know that the MAF is Bosch so I calculated under the assumption that MLOFS is 200).

Then I multiplied those numbers by .6741. Then I re-added 200 to those numbers.
Sound about right? This is what i got:

Does this look about right? Also, I'm a bit confused regarding cleaning up KFKHFM and FKKVS. I'm trying to install and calibrate components one at a time so If i'm just scaling the MAF, I will only need to touch KFKHFM? or will i need to tweak both?

So, the procedure would be, drive 10-20 minutes idle, part throttle, logging STFT.

Then you tweak KFKHFM cross comparing where the STFT is not 0, find what rpm and load corresponds to that point and decrease/increase the value of that cell gradually. Relog and repeat until STFT at idle/Part throttle is close to/exactly 0?
Does that sound correct?
Also, could someone remind me the logging variable for STFT?

My simple method for this to approve is to measure the difference in size stock and new MAF sensor and adjust your MLHFM map to this.
Then log requested lambda and actual and edit MLHFM until requested meets actual.

I guess theres another workaround for this but this is how I adjusted mine.

To say, if the new MAF size has increased by 15% adjust MLHFM by at least 15%.

I just found this thread: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4839.45 and just when I read your reply on that topic it starts to make sense that theres a negative region in MLHFM because you need to substract MLOFS of MLHFM (sorry for not reading in correctly).
I checked on my H-box and saw that from 1.0059V the values becomes positive.
This would mean if you change the size you’ll need to adjust this downwards in the negative section (below 1.0059V in the H-box) and scale upwards in the positive section (from 1.0059V in H-box)

I also found the executable for the MLHFM recalculation, which provides 3 options.
1. Calculate old size MAF with new size MAF
2. Calculate old size MAF with new size MAF for Hitachi sensors
3. Calculate MAF size on increment by %

Now I am a little bit confused because when I use option 1 with 65mm stock MAF and 83mm new MAF it gives me a different output then when I use option 3 and calculate the % difference between 65mm and 83mm.
My calculation goes as following: (83/65)= 27,7%.

I added MAF.xls to show the difference the program calculated between option 1 and option 3.

What is the point I am overseeing here?

I understand what I did wrong. I only took the measurement in length not in surface.

When I calculate 83 x 83 x 3,14 = 21 631mm2
with 65 x 65 x 3,14 = 13 266mm2
21 631 / 13 266 = 63% which is exact the same as option 1 calculated.

When calculating this in the negative numbers (below 1.0059V) these values will be higher negative numbers and for the values above 1.0059V these will be greater positive numbers, from my understanding.

EDIT: I have updated the MAF.xls to give myself a better idea of what the recalculation did.

Either straight scaling if it is the same sensor in a different housing, or according to the manufacturer specs if it is a non-oem sensor.

Small/individual corrections should be done elsewhere (e.g. kfkhfm)

sweet, yes, that's what I gathered from the wiki but some people have said edit mlhfm based on logs so i was confused.
