Hey Guys,

i want to understand BAM to BFV changes and in advance make a good an safe stage 1 for my Cupra BAM 225.
Also i went through s4 wiki and understanding 1.8tuning pdf, installed tuner pro, read my current ecu with nefmoto, flashed the ori map as pretuned map was shitty.
The Cupra is mostly stock but i upgraded to 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch exhaust with 200 cell catalyst, oil catch can and upgraded intake.
Up to now i compared BAM xdf with BFV xdf and found following maps:

KFLBTS -> different
KFMIRL -> different
KFZW -> different
KFZW2 -> different
KFZWOP no difference?
KFZWOP2 no difference?
KRTKE lower in BFV?
LAMFA -> different
LDRXN -> different
LDRXNZK -> different

And am i right that KRKTE is a little bit lower in BFV map? means less fuel pressure?

in my first step i compared the BFV maps with BAM and will probably try them on my BAM to do logs for further research.
The second step will be changing towards 250 to 260 HP, hopefully not more than 2250 or 2300mbar boost.

But i didn't find the right KFKHFM and KFMIOP in BFV map.  maybe sb can tell me where to find the right one?
is there any guide or sth which i didn't find in forums to find the missing maps manually?

i don't want to get a professional remapper and i have no further upgrades in my mind. Just making a safe stage 1.

KRKTE is for injectors and is specific for injector and fuel pressure.  Leave it alone if you've not touched injectors or fuel pressure.
HFM is for MAF.  Again, leave it alone unless you've changed it.

WOP/2 isn't needed.
KFZW/2 is for different CR.  Do you understand the changes?
BTS is not the only map controlling BTS fuelling.  There are another 4.
IRL needs to match *roughly* with IOP.  Only needs changed if it's less than your load request.

i have read not to change krkte but i wondered why BFV and BAM have a different value.

KFZW of BFV is increased under high loads and high RPM on BFV. shall prevent timing retard.
what means different CR? i thought KFZW and KFZW2 will be switched due to camshaft state 1 or 2.
Does it switch between because of engine temperature or what?

regarding fueling:
KFDLBTS is unchanged
KFFDLBTS is unchanged

others
KFLDHBN is unchanged
KFLDHBN is unchanged

any help to find iop?
and is there any guide which maps are interchangeable? must sw vag number 0002 also be the same?

Increased timing values will increase the likelihood of knock.  If it's higher in one, it's likely the CR is lower.

For KRKTE, fuel pressure must be different.

yes i see. when increasing timing, ignition is to early resulting in higher pressure, right?

The BFV 1.8T is the strongest 1.8t production variant. It has the same pistons(06A 107 065 BQ) and rods(027 198 401 B) as BAM , however the block is different code,(06A 103 011 AB - 06A 100 044D / DX) it has additional webbing in the crankcase, if we are to believe speculation, also flywheel has a different code, and the head too but I dont think there are any changes. Apart from that it is exactly the same as BAM , same CR, the timing is increased for increased power , it is basically a remapped bam.

KRKTE is dependent on ecu, fuel pressure and all that jazz, so you should never copy krkte's. Also the recommended fuel was 98 min or 95 atleast, just like with the 2.8 v6.

increasing KFZW doesnt prevent timing retard , you are more likely to knock with more timing.

KFZW/2 is switched depending on the VVT , either continous VVT or 2 point vvt.

thanks for your help. i've read not to change krkte so i don't do it, just wondering.

CR is compression ratio? My technical english must be upgraded  Roll Eyes

thank you very much  Smiley
so the engineers also increased iop on BFV.

If i make an excel calc taking the differences from BAM to BFV and increase the important maps in BAM with the double amount off difference BAM-BFV value i should get 255 -260 HP, right?

this is an important question  Roll Eyes

in the "understanding 1.8t ecu remapping pdf" there are several maps mentioned.... the ones from s4 wiki, amateur and professional tuners.
and in the strategy on page 37 there are only a couple of maps to change.

as i wrote before, i will look for the s4 wiki mentioned maps, compare BFV to BAM and will change the ones that differ if sounds logical.
i will stay at stage 1, maybe stage 2 tuning later on, so if sb tells me which maps to change, i would be happy.

new map to search: where is KFLDIMX on BAM?

after some further research i will start with modifying these maps, as the others seem to be unchanged.

Fueling
KFLBTS
KFMIRL
LAMFA

Timing
KFZW
KFZW2

Torque / Load
KFMIOP
KFMIRL
LDRXN
LDRXNZK
KFPED

Boost
KFLDHBN
LDIATA to Zero
KFDLULS
KFLDIMX

can somebody help me to find the right Rows for KFLDIMX?
Enclosed my current modified BAM File, not checksum corrected.
