I want to make some experiment with high octane fuel. But in my county is not posible to get one. We only have RON 95 and RON 98 with 5% etanol
So i decidet to make my own, but need some of your sugestion if someone try this or do some research about this.
First cheap option is mix acetone with fuel.
Acetone is cheap one,  it is 60% cheaper than petrol but can't find information how much octane does it have and how hamerful for engine is.

Second option is alcohol. I can get 96% etil alcohol,  price is twice expensive than a petrol.
So mixing  96%etil alcohol(113 octane) with RON 98 petrol, in proportion 50/50 I can get about 105 octane

Third option is octane boosters something like this
https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/silkolene-pro-boost-octane-improver-oct-b
datasheet say that mixing 1.5% can give 0.5-2 MON, max mixing is 3%

So if I have luck i can get 3-4MON aprox 6-7RON   98+7=105RON
That doesen't give me too much hope, and it is too expensive.

Soo what you say? one thing you must know, I drive car at cruise speed 95% of time, and it runs on LPG. This mixture in tank will be only for experiment and some WOT

1. Acetone(0.5€/L)  petrol (1.15€/L) with 20:80 mix at 50L cost about 55€  octane number: uknown?
2. Alcohol (2.5€/L) petrol with 50:50 mix at 50L cost about 90€,  octane number : around 105
3. 2L octane booster (40€) with petrol at 50L cost more than a 90€, octane number 101-105

No only RON 100, 50-60 km from my home. The first E85 is 600-700 km away
If I put WMI kit, still couldn't find where to buy methanol.  Only maybe nitro methanol for RC cars

50 km is nothing and you can always fill up gasoline tanks and just bring it home.

A lot of chemical companies sell methanol, it is nothing special. Just call some of them and ask.

Brazil is a fucked country but at least we have E98 (98% ethanol + 2% water) almost every where.

I don't think you understand me, I can only buy 100 octane, but I need more than that

Thank for advice, will try

In my country it is also dificult to buy methanol, only available to chemical companies. Even washer fluides now have litle to none methanol, EU rules.
E85 is also a no no and also 98 is getting hard to find on some places.

Its a conspiration against tuned cars Smiley

I think I will make my own E50. For one tank of fuel that is not expensive. It can last me for 2 moths

You have LPG dont you ? It has an octane rating up to 110. Its price is also less than an euro here per liter, sure its weaker than petrol a tiny bit , but even with compensanting for that its way cheaper than petrol / liter.

Can you get propane or toulene they both have ridicolous octane ratings.

Anyway we have basically 98 ron at almost every station. They one I use next to me is 98 ron + e10 + other crap ( never read the full description) , its very good, on weekends its the same price as regural 95 ron so I usually fill up on weekends only.

LPG doesn't have colling efect, it is good for cheap drive, but not for tuning.

IS the E50 hamrful for fuel pump, lines injectors?

Also I think I found methanol, that system make a huge interest on me, and now I will try to build something by my own
