hi,I ordered a spare ecu. how do you read the eprom ecu? I understood that it is necessary to be in bootmode (pin 24 to the mass or by obd which software?) for the moment I manage to read the eprom cluster with vag commander. I equipped myself with me7eeprom me7_95040
but I am far from having read everything and understood everything. I have plenty to do

sorry for my google translate

correct, put ecu in bootmode (solder or wire to chip pin->gnd) and then connect with me7eeprom program (works with ft232rl cable).

ok thank you. for a "switchable" version a switch outside the ecu? I read 10seconds to ground with contact on. does this erase the flash? no other solution to clone? me7eprom works in cmd too?

I'm going to wait to receive the backup ecu. No risk of immo blocking if I swap my stock/backup ecu and put the stock back on afterwards to read and check the software number and watch the flash.

I brought both the gnd and bootmode wire outside the ecu. I didn't put a switch but I plugged the wire ends and when I need boot mode, I remove the plugs and connect the wires together.

bootmode is not needed for binary read, but eeprom read it is needed as far as i know. Does not erase flash.

Me7eprom works in windows cmd only.

vag commander

that is tool for instrument cluster, not ecu... you are reading ecu eeprom, not instrument.

Hi
I am progressing slowly but surely on my little project. I now have a 2nd ecu that I cloned. I saw that I am missing some maps if someone can help me that would be cool:

Same bootrom version and pcb design files can be crossflashed without any issues. Pretty much anything but please dont make me look up all the info.
Post the whole output from me7check of bins..

It looks like that is even the same ecu so one of the softs is newer so tldr you can. Dont forget about your eeprom

is it possible to flash 4B0906018CG on 4B0906018R?
or another?
of course keeping my flash eprom and set ESKONF.
thank you

I tried 018CG does not start, I want to know why? 018r is in a4 b5 2000/018CG a4 b5 2001 . same engine. a quattro file will prevent it from starting on traction? different EPK numbers?

yes I can try all the files that are close to 018R and tell you which ones work. but I would like to understand what makes it not work software?hardware numbers? the file?

indeed there is a map pack 018CA on the forum and the CA file seems to correspond to 018R.
