I've used me7logger in the past but now I have a VX220 with the Z20LET engine and ME1.5.5 ECU. I've tried using opcom+cable but it's slow and limited rather like vcds is. I see my ecu should be supported under the adavanced protocols but what variables would this give me acccess to? Reluctant to buy a J2534 cable etc until I know this will do the job.

All of the variables, only bitfields are missing in case of generated def.
And a proper J2534 cable is a good investment, there's thousands of different software applications that work with it.

But the Tactrix Openport 2.0 is OK ? It looks like the most reasonably priced of the genuine cables.

But the Tactrix Openport 2.0 is OK ? It looks like the most reasonably priced of the genuine cables. It's the cable that the development is done with, because it is the most commonly used. I can't say it's "the best", because it has some software limitations, and an extremely shitty failure prone mini-usb connection, but it should work quite well with every conceivable app out there.

Hi I would like to check out this Vehical logger on my FK8 Honda. I see a lot of "Tactrix OpenPort 2.0" devices available on Aliexpress. Many of them appear to be basically identical in the photos though some have different colored connector housings (black, vs clear). Is there a specific one I should be looking for? And will the drivers listed on the Vehical site ( https://docs.vehical.net/logger_tested_devices) be the ones I should install? I am hesitant to use any of the drivers that they appear to include with the aliexpress clones. thanks

Those clones range from comically bad to bad. No they are not the same thing or even the same firmware half the time. No, most of them don't work properly.

Would it be possible to add error code reading for ME7, especially ME7.8?

Please consider releasing this for MED9.1, or a one time payment option.

Please consider releasing this for MED9.1, or a one time payment option. There is a one time payment option for MED9 per VIN. Always has been. If you want to do just your car you buy subscription for 1 month, buy the license for your VIN for the advanced protocol and then let the subscription expire. The advanced protocol on that VIN will keep working even with expired subscription.
