My gonzo GTT turbo puked the thrust bearing….so back to stock turbo for now and planning for what is next. Budget is a concern so I am likely leaning towards a T3/T04E 50 trim if I go name brand, but my searching has come across the Pulsar brand. Other forums had people making positive comments. Anyone here have any experience with them?? Thanks guys.

I specialize in powersports and we use them for Polaris applications. I have had some issues with wastegate flapper arm failures, but they have been corrected. I would say I have sold 70-100 of them.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. I will be using an external gate so good to know that's the only point of failure seen by you.

Marty, thank you for the suggestion, I sent RAC an email so I will update once I hear back from them.

I heard back from RAC. Seems like good people. I also have been recommended VS Racing by a friend. They have a VSR5455. I reached out to them and they said it was similar to the G30-660. Too much turbo for a street driven car??

If its cheap then its china.
your VSR 5455 is 1:1 from here https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ssn=powermaxturbos_us&store_name=powermaxturbos&_oac=1

You can buy pulsar or powermax without any issues. alot of guys in germany run pulsar instead of garrett

in addition the garrett figures are never for pump fuel. if its called g30-660 than you will see 560max with pump fuel.

Thanks aef. Will be on E85 when it isn’t winter. That is comical about the powermax turbos. Quite the mark up for the US based VS Racing. The powermax units are at a lower price point than Pulsar. Any reason to spend the extra on a Pulsar?

Not sure how you compared but if i click the
PSR Forward Rotation 5455G Dual Ball Bearing Turbocharger HP Rating 660
Compressor Housing Options:
Standard 0.70A/R 3‘’ Inlet
Turbine Housing Options: T3 .83 V-Band
... in the pulsar homepage its 899US shipped free to miami/fl for example.

For powermax ebay i can see shipping costs from china.
Not sure about the accessories/flanges.

Would buy pulsar because there is more than just one ebay shop and a facebook page linking to that ebay shop lol.

Pulsar it is. “Gtx3071r gen2” T3 in vband out for $640 on amazon. I messaged the pulsar store through amazon asking for a compressor map. They sent me images from garrett stating the flow/efficiency was similar. Lol

Made over 707 wheel horsepower on my 92 eg with a piston rod combo on a otherwise stock h22a long block. Those Pulsar Mongolian meat mashers are decent. I've had it on the car for the last 3 years with noooo issues. It may be worth adding the car has only had 15k put on it in the last 3 years though.
