Ok. So I was trying to do the fis cluster swap on my 04 r32. Used Vag Commander 2.5 to retrieve my login. So I go ahead and do the swap and follow the instructions as listed on vcds. After everything I got a immo activated error on cluster. No worries. I decided to swap back to the original cluster. No immo light or anything looked normal. But now the car doesn't start. The engine cranks but not dice. I'm assuming this is an issue with the cluster now. Anyone have an idea how I can just go back to the original cluster and act like nothing happened?

Unhook the battery for 5 minutes, plug it back in, clear all codes, then the car should start.

So i cleared it cycled the key off to on and wen to start it again and same problem. What if i turn the immo off with vag commander would you think that would help? Any ideas?

Vag commander is barely functional. I use it to play with cluster mileage only. Not quite sure what happened honestly.

Honestly i have no clue either. I'll try the adaptation over again and adapt the keys as well and see what going on. I'll try to turn the immo off as well if that even works.

By any chance would you happen to know what the reset ecu button does?

It disconnects, then reconnects in order to display changes. Never worked for me, only supported on some vehicles.

And the immo on and off are effective only when you write to the eprom i assume right? CLicking them and then exiting without writing wont do anything.

I hope you read, and saved the eeprom contents before you did ANYTHING with vag-commander. It has a tendency to corrupt data.

Two dumps attached, if yours is similar it's probably fine. If you use these you'll have to adapt the immobilizer.

Ok, so nothing went well today. My original cluster now has a def under the odometer when the key is in the ignition on position and now the worse part is that i keep getting a fail message when i try to login. I will not let me log in into the cluster when i enter the skc. I am almost at a complete stop.

-Where are you located?
-You dont have a original saved dump from the cluster?
-Does anyone know if VAG Commander auto saves a recovery file like vagdashcan? I don't use vag commander.
